The madness and the horror of blood."
STYLE & LANGUAGE |
Edgar Allan Poe has a way of adding many different styles to his writing. In his short story, “The Masque of the Red death,” I would say his style of writing is that he’s very clear and gets to the point without having to add too much unnecessary words. He also has a way of using a “colorful” language, meaning that he does not use simple, boring words. He uses words that are more descriptive and more interesting which makes the story more enjoyable to others. When I say that he is clear and gets to the point, he does not add things in his story that make you wonder “why is this even necessary?” or “what was the point of this?” It is also known that when Poe writes, he either makes his stories very short or very long, depending on what the story is about. As for the language that he uses in his story of The Masque of the Red Death, it is not just plain words, he uses words that are more intriguing to his audience. For example, he uses words like, “dauntless,” “sagacious,” voluptuous.” These are words that are more sophisticated and are most likely to be better understood by a more mature group.
